Privacy Policy
How this website handles the information you give us, and the little it collects on its own.
Last updated: September 2026
What we collect
We collect only what you choose to send us, by email, by telephone or through our website forms. Each form asks only for what its purpose needs:
- Program interest and updates (on the Programs page, with a shorter version in the footer of every page): your first name and email address, and if you choose to give them, your last name, city and state, how you would prefer to take part, the topics you would like to hear about and what would make a gathering meaningful or accessible for you.
- Partnership and funding inquiry: your name, email address, organization and title, the kind of conversation you are starting, what you would like to support and your message, and if you choose, a telephone number, your organization’s website, timing and how you heard about us.
- Volunteer or facilitator interest: your name, email, city and state, how and when you would like to help, your relevant experience, and if you choose, a telephone number, a link to a professional profile or portfolio and why the mission matters to you. If you offer to facilitate or to serve as a practitioner, we also ask for the discipline or service you would bring, the relevant credential or qualification you hold and the organization that issued it, and you may add the state and its current status. If you offer a professional trade or pro bono professional service, the same questions appear but every one of them is optional. They appear only for those choices. We never ask for a license number, and we do not accept file uploads.
- General contact: your name, email, what you need help with and your message, and if you choose, a telephone number.
With every submission we also record which form was used, the page it was sent from and the time it was received. No form asks for a street address, a date of birth, medical information, a diagnosis, a trauma history or emergency details; please do not include them. The same applies if you email or telephone us instead.
How your submission is handled
A submission goes to our own email inboxes, where a person reviews it, and you receive a short confirmation by email that does not repeat what you wrote. Service providers process submissions and send those emails on our behalf: our website host, Vercel, receives the submission; our email delivery provider, Resend, sends the notification and your confirmation; and our email host, Fastmail, holds our inboxes and may also send the emails directly. They are bound to protect what they process and may not use it for their own purposes.
Program and organizational updates
We send updates only to people who asked for them by ticking a box, and that box is never pre-ticked. Joining the program interest list, on the Programs page or in the footer, means agreeing to email updates about programs and events. The partnership, volunteer and general contact forms have a separate, optional box for occasional organizational updates; if you do not tick it, you are not added to any list, and giving us permission to reply to your inquiry is never the same as agreeing to updates.
If you ask for updates, your name and email address are also stored as a contact with our email provider, Resend, so that we can send updates and honor your choice to stop them. That contact also records the version of the consent wording you agreed to, the time and the page you signed up on. The full record of your consent, meaning the exact wording, its version, the time and the page, is kept in the notification email of your signup in our own inbox. Every update email will include an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask to be removed at any time by writing to hello@
If you are invited to share a photograph or a testimonial, that permission is asked for separately and is never bundled into a form or a registration.
Our website host records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. This is used to keep the site running and secure, including limiting repeated form submissions.
Donations and event registrations
Donations and event registrations are made on Zeffy, our donation platform, which collects your details under its own privacy policy. How we handle donor information is described in our Donor Privacy Policy.
Analytics
The site may use privacy-conscious analytics to understand page and form usage. These counts never include names, email addresses, telephone numbers, messages or anything else entered into a form. Page addresses are recorded without anything after a question mark. There is no selling of data, no advertising profile and no cross-site tracking.
Cookies
This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Any cookie set is strictly necessary for the site to function.
How we use your information
- To review and respond to your inquiry or offer.
- To consider volunteer and facilitator interest against current needs.
- To send program or organizational updates, only if you asked for them.
- To keep records required of a nonprofit organization.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not share it with anyone except the service providers named above and others who help us operate this site and our email, all of whom are bound to protect it.
How long we keep it
Form notifications and correspondence stay in our email inboxes for as long as they are useful to the relationship or needed for our records. Our email delivery provider, Resend, keeps a copy of the emails it sends for us (the notification of your submission and your confirmation) for 30 days, then deletes it. Update subscribers stay on our contact list until they unsubscribe or ask us to delete their details. After an unsubscribe we keep the address marked as unsubscribed so that we do not email it again, unless you ask us to remove it entirely. Donor records are kept for as long as required by law and sound nonprofit record-keeping.
Your choices
You can stop receiving updates at any time through the unsubscribe link that every update email will include, or by writing to us. You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to hello@
Children
This website is intended for adults, and volunteer and facilitator interest is open only to people 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and change the date at the top.
